Revelation 21:10-11
“And he carried me away in the Spirit to a great, high mountain, and showed me the holy city Jerusalem coming down out of heaven from God, having the glory of God, its radiance like a most rare jewel, like jasper, clear as crystal.”
Inspired by Caspar David Friedrich’s The Cathedral (painted in 1818), this cyanotype was designed for my neighbour with the original commission being A1 in size and called Canterbury Cathedral-on-Sea. We now offer smaller prints in A4 and A3 in a series named My View of Canterbury Cathedral, as the work became not only a portrait of Canterbury Cathedral, but a reflection of what Heaven is described as in the Scriptures.
What is a Cyanotype?
Cyanotype photography is a historical process where chemicals turn blue when exposed to UV light from the sun and then washed with water. Blueprints get there name from cyanotypes, which were used to make copies of the original architectural plans for construction works between 1870 and 1950.
